Internet Video - After watching some of the many
pointless videos on you tube, I came across one
that truly moved me. It is a quick video
highlighting an amazing dad who would stop at
nothing to help his special needs son, experience
life. Watch it, it is simply awesome!

I have not been able to make
much progress with forming my own charity, but I
wanted to share with you a place where you can
make small donations to very specific causes
that you are interested in. I recently gave a
little to a fund that will help teachers and
students study the water quality in New Orleans
after Hurricane Katrina. You will hear back from
them personally to thank you for your support.
The site where you can choose
what you would like to support is

Dear Mr. Cannone,
Greetings of Peace and Love! I am so grateful
for the monetary help to assist my students in
studying the water quality of New Orleans
waters. This project started last year. I wish
to continue the study this year so my class will
have the data to analyze in class. This year, I
will emphasize the skill of correlation study.
The resources you provided to me is a blessing.
Thank you and I wish you well in your endeavors.
Sincerely, Sheila Lumod New Orleans, LA

It is not often where I find
myself struggling to get my thoughts out on
paper, or on a computer for that matter. But the
recent tragedy at Virginia Tech has left me a
bit displaced. I don't know what to say other
than, I hope those who have suffered can push
forward and I hope all people will rally behind
them.

For those of you that are
quick to assume that sports and professional
athletes are part of the moral decay of our
society.... I stumbled upon a cool story about
how teachers are using fantasy football to teach
kids how to learn math, and it is working very
well.... check out the quick 3 minute video.

Giving Back - My
brother introduced me to an awesome new program
that is providing wheelchairs for many of the 25
million disabled people in china, and people
with disabilities all over the world. You have
to see how they are taking regular patio chairs
and converting them to free wheelchairs. A small
donation can build a wheelchair and provides
mobility, and freedom for someone who needs
help. I just thought this was cool and wanted to
share it. For more info visit:

I can't believe I have lived
in Chicago for almost two years now. I realized
that I haven't posted any pics from this great
city. So here are a few pictures I have
taken since I have been here.

I'm pleased to announce that I am trying
to form
my first charity. This charity will help
provide for underprivileged kids in junior high
school and high school. At some point I would
like to help children all over the world but for
now I will start at the local level.
There are lots of
opportunities in middle school and high school
to participate in clubs, sports and other extra
curricular activities. Unfortunately, all these
activities require out of pocket expenses; team
uniforms, supplies, equipment. Many kids end up
not participating and maybe end up regretting
it later on in life.
If we all can just pitch
in a few dollars here and there we can certainly
make a difference.
My initial donation will
hopefully be enough to start a fund that will
help pay for a student's team shoes, art
supplies, musical instrument rental, field
trips, yearbooks, school supplies.
The donation will be made
to my high school in Maryland, (Linganore High School) and
will hopefully gain enough momentum to become
county wide, then possibly state wide. I'm
looking to establish a contact with someone at
the school. So if you know anyone there that I
should contact please let me know. Also, if you
are interested in helping me or have any
suggestions, please let me know.
I look forward to your
support and will update you when the legal side
of things have been completed.
